Embrace Recovery & Wellness Center (ERWC) believes that an accurate and comprehensive assessment is an essential step in the counseling process and will continue throughout therapy. Addiction and mental health conditions do not happen in isolation. As a therapeutic event, the assessment may open doors that until now have been closed, and may offer valuable insights into that which needs to be transformed. Once assessed, this information is used to guide the formation of the treatment plan concerning counseling interventions and assist the individual on their road towards recovery and wellness.
Mandated Substance Abuse Assessments
At Embrace Recovery and Wellness Center (ERWC) we are licensed as substance abuse professionals and therefore are able to provide specific substance abuse assessments. Here is a sampling of possible mandated situations: court, children’s services involvement, employment related, a condition of your professional license (nurse, counselor, social worker, doctor, attorney, etc).
In addition to the clinical interview, mandated assessments also include: case management and collaborative communication, standardized screening/testing and official recommendation letter. If treatment is determined to be necessary, the therapist will work with you to establish an appropriate level of care and placement.
Individual therapy is the format that most people find beneficial because they can develop a one on one relationship with their therapist in a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment. Individual therapy sessions are designed to meet your individual unique needs. The schedule for therapy sessions is determined in partnership with your therapist. With a treatment plan tailored specifically to your situation and your goals, we will work with you to achieve a deeper sense of fulfillment, wellness, and connectedness in your life and in recovery.
Embrace Recovery & Wellness Center offers a variety of groups with both a therapeutic and psychoeducational focus. We believe in the healing power of community and have witnessed the effectiveness of people serving as a resource and support to one another. Groups are an excellent way to work on anxiety, addictions, depression, trauma, life transitions, build skills and grow personally because it is a safe environment to explore issues with others who have gone through similar experiences. It is not for everyone however, it is less expensive (1/3 of the cost for a one to one session) than one on one therapy and can be used in conjunction or instead of one to one therapy.
Not feeling the "spark" anymore? Or perhaps financial worries, addiction, parenting or the everyday jumble of schedules, work and extracurricular activities has gotten you off track as a couple. We will work with you to improve communication, life changes, work through addiction/recovery, infidelity, and a wide variety of issues that impact couples. We use a strengths-based approach that is tailored to your needs-as a couple.
Family counseling is, by far, one of my most challenging and rewarding types of work done. During family counseling sessions, we work on communication styles/techniques, adjusting to life after addiction, parenting issues, setting boundaries and limits, even adjusting to recent changes in the family (a new member, blended families, empty nest, moves) and/or working through whatever problem your family may be experiencing...the key being working together...as a family.
An intervention is a carefully planned process that may be done by family and friends, in consultation with a licensed therapist, alcohol and drug counselor, or trained interventionist. It sometimes involves co-workers, clergy members or others who care about the person struggling with addiction.
We will assist you organize an effective intervention - taking into account your loved one's particular circumstances, suggest the best approach, and help guide you in what type of treatment and follow-up plan is likely to work best. A successful intervention must be planned carefully to work as intended. A poorly planned intervention can worsen the situation — your loved one may feel attacked and become isolated or more resistant to treatment.
