Hello & Welcome!
I am independently licensed as a mental health and chemical dependency counselor working with Embrace Recovery & Wellness Center, LLC. In addition to earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in music performance from both James Madison University and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, I have also obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Xavier University. I have experience working in both agency and private practice settings, and I work with individuals aged 14 and older. The majority of my clinical experience has been working with those who are struggling with substance abuse issues, including spending two years working specifically with clients suffering from opiate addiction.
While addictions has been a large focus of my clinical work, I recognize that managing addiction is only one part of the individual’s story, and only one part of the individual’s journey to wellness. I also recognize that other issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and more, can create barriers to achieving optimal wellness and fullness in life, regardless of the presence of addiction. I utilize a client-focused, strengths-based, holistic approach to counseling sessions, and will also incorporate Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices in order to collaborate with clients in the most meaningful and effective manner.
